This year, 2BFOREST will be present at the 5th edition of the European Conference on Ecosystem Services, from 18-22 November 2024 in Wageningen, Netherlands.
Ecosystem Services Partnership promotes the 5th European conference on the theme Ecosystem Services: One Planet, One Health.
The topic is aligned with international commitments under the Global Framework for Biodiversity and is at the heart of the sustainable development goals. These goals can only be achieved within a healthy and fair economic system that takes into account the full value of nature's contributions to human well-being. Ecosystem services science can significantly contribute to addressing several sustainable development and global health challenges and offers great potential for cross-domain scientific partnerships and for driving transformative change.
ESP is the leading global community in the field of ecosystem services, of which 2BForest has been a member since 2024, given the relevance of the topic and the importance of networking, knowledge exchange, and innovation to consolidate the strategy of implementing and valuing ecosystem services in Portuguese forests.
At the 5th ESP Europe conference, 2BForest intended to give special attention to two mobilizing and differentiating projects in Portugal, with the presentation of two Posters:
1st Network of demonstration sites for forest Ecosystem Services in Portugal
2nd Valuation of small private forest land through Ecosystem Services certification;
