2BForest provided training on preparing GeoJSON files for the EUDR Information System
On May 6, 2025, 2BForest successfully held an online training session dedicated to the new European Regulation on Deforestation and Forest Degradation (EUDR), bringing together participants from several national entities involved in the import and marketing of agricultural and forestry products.
With the entry into force of the EUDR, all operators trading in products such as timber, soybeans, cocoa, coffee, rubber, cattle, and palm oil in the European Union market are now required to geolocate their production plots. This information must be submitted through the EUDR Information System (SI-EUDR) using the GeoJSON format.
During the training, participants learned to:
-
Identify changes in land use;
-
Convert the geographic boundaries of forest parcels to GeoJSON format;
-
Validate data sent by suppliers or prepare data to be sent to customers.
The session, which ran from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, was specifically aimed at companies and organizations in the sector that operate with products associated with deforestation, promoting legal compliance and sustainability in the supply chain.
2BForest will continue to closely monitor the implementation of the EUDR and provide technical and training support to national entities.
Stay tuned for upcoming sessions and keep your company prepared for the challenges of the new regulations!
