2BForest participates in SPEA Conferences, Óbidos, Leiria

It is with great enthusiasm that 2BForest will participate in the Territorial Custody Days for the forestry sector: conserving to enhance, organized by SPEA, Altri Florestal and FSC® Portugal, within the scope of the Life LxAquila project, which will take place on the day May 16, from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm in the Furadouro Farm (Marine Eye, Óbidos).

In this workshop, you will be able to obtain information, hear testimonies from forest owners and managers involved in Portugal and Spain, and learn practical examples, including a visit to a conservation area managed by Altri, at Quinta do Furadouro.

The conservation of natural values in forest production stands represents a challenge, particularly for forest owners and managers on smallholdings, but it can also constitute an opportunity.

Land trusteeship is a good solution for reconciling the objectives and interests of all parties. This innovative methodology is already widely used in Spain, where it has a legal framework, but is rarely implemented in Portugal. Its application is especially useful on private land outside protected areas, as a complement to existing environmental legislation, and is based on voluntary participation in flexible collaboration agreements, which can include various incentives and benefits.

Learn about this and other tools to encourage and enhance the implementation of nature conservation measures on your property or professional activity, such as forest management and ecosystem services certification.

These conferences are free, but registration is required. Sign up here.
