2BForest present at the final meeting of FIRE-RES and winner of the Open Innovation Challenge
2BForest attended the final meeting of the FIRE-RES project, organized by CoLAB ForestWISE and the Instituto Superior de Agronomia, with the support of the Municipalities of Lousã and Penafiel (Sousa Valley). The event brought together researchers, decision-makers, technicians, professionals, and local communities for a day of sharing, reflection, and future planning, celebrating four years of collaborative work dedicated to landscape resilience in the face of rural fires.
During the session, key Innovation Actions and solutions developed over four years were reviewed, covering topics such as adaptive management, risk communication, post-fire restoration, and much more. Among the Open Innovation Challenges (OICs) presented, 2BForest's ForestSIM® stands out, as it was one of the winning solutions in the Open Innovation Challenge promoted by FIRE-RES.
2BForest's presence at this event reinforces our commitment to innovation, collaboration, and forest sustainability, actively contributing to the construction of more resilient and safer landscapes. ForestSIM®, as a tool for supporting decision-making and valuing forest ecosystem services, is fully integrated into this mission of connecting technology, management, and science to serve people and nature.
