2BForest recognized as part of the “FSC Solidarity” campaign.
2BForest was recognized as the beneficiary of the funds raised in the campaign. FSC Solidarity, promoted by FSC Portugal, whose main objective was to support projects that contribute to sustainable forest management and the recovery of degraded forest areas.
The campaign ran from November 23, 2024 to November 23, 2025, exceeding expectations by raising €13,653.38 for direct application on the ground in impactful projects in areas affected by the September 2024 forest fires.
2BForest's application reflects the technical and environmental soundness of the project presented within the framework of the FSC Ecosystem Services certification, a model that quantifies and values benefits such as biodiversity conservation, carbon sequestration, and recreational services provided by forests.
The submitted project focuses on the recovery and mitigation of wildfire impacts, including the control of invasive species, biodiversity monitoring through innovative technology (eDNA), and the assessment of post-fire effects, demonstrating how sustainable forest management enhances the resilience of ecosystems.
In addition to restoring native forests and ecosystem services, the initiative, promoted with the support of 2BForest, aims to consolidate remuneration mechanisms such as ES_Sponsor, encouraging the appreciation and protection of forest owners, and promoting good management practices that represent environmental, social, and economic benefits for society.
This distinction reinforces 2BForest's commitment to valuing forest ecosystem services, a central focus of our work in promoting sustainable solutions that contribute to the resilience of the territory and the ecological transition of the Portuguese forestry sector.
