Happy World Environmental Education Day!
Today, January 26th, marks World Environmental Education Day, a date that reinforces the importance of awareness and environmental literacy as pillars for a more sustainable future.
At 2BForest, we believe that Environmental Education goes beyond theory and begins with direct contact with nature. Public green spaces play an essential role in bringing communities closer to the territory, promoting knowledge, appreciation, and respect for the forest as a living ecosystem.
Mata dos Marrazes is a clear example of this approach. This green space, integrated into the ES_Sponsor project and certified for Ecosystem Services by 2BForest, reflects a sustainable forest management strategy, combined with requalification actions that allow direct use by the local community.
Valuing these spaces contributes not only to environmental conservation, but also to the well-being of the population and to the creation of a closer and more conscious relationship with the forest.
A video about the Mata dos Marrazes forest, developed within the scope of the Better Forest Program, part of the Transform Agenda, under the Mobilizing Agendas for Business Innovation, through the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) and European NextGeneration EU Funds, is available on the 2BForest YouTube channel.
