We are hiring for a Forestry Consulting Internship (Ourém–Pombal)!!
We are looking for an intern to support the development of forest certification in the Ourém/Pombal region and the launch of the RAP – Owner Support Network, contributing to sustainable forest management and proximity to the territory.
Main Responsibilities
• Gathering information on the ground and contacting forest owners.
• Assessment of management needs and local technical support.
• Support for the development of Forest Management Plans (FMPs)
• Collection and analysis of forestry information
• Cartographic interpretation and preparation of technical documentation
• Participation in field activities and community outreach initiatives
• Support for FSC® certification processes
• Use of the ForestSIM platform
Internship Objectives
• Develop skills in FSC® forest certification
• Understand and apply the technical and legal requirements of the sector.
• Develop fieldwork and landowner interaction skills.
• Strengthen organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
• To promote progressive integration into the company's operational dynamics.
Desired Profile
• Degree in Forestry Engineering, Natural Resources or equivalent field
• Knowledge of forest management and silvicultural planning
• Interest in forest certification systems
• Skills in digital tools and GIS
• Good organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Autonomy, responsibility, and attention to detail
Workplace
• Ourém/Pombal region, with a strong fieldwork component
• Frequent travel within the territory

Mandatory requirements for internships + talent (IEFP):
• Be under 35 years old
• Being registered with the IEFP as unemployed
• Possess academic qualifications of level 6 or higher.
• Being a resident of Portugal
