2BForest at the Seminar “Stone Pine: Technological Innovations and Emerging Challenges”
2BForest was present on September 17th at the 3rd Seminar dedicated to the stone pine, organized by the Forestry Studies Centre (CEF) in collaboration with the National Institute for Agrarian and Veterinary Research (INIAV). The event, part of the “From Research to Application” cycle and the CEF's 50th anniversary celebrations, took place in the Auditorium of the Higher Institute of Agronomy and brought together researchers, producers and technicians around a common goal: to find solutions that help reverse the production decline that the species has recorded in the last decade.
The day's program covered topics such as technological innovation, the valorization of new products, the multifunctionality of the pine forest, the reproduction and phenology of the species, and forest health and surveillance, providing a comprehensive overview of the challenges and opportunities currently facing the management of stone pines in Portugal.
In this context, 2BForest had the opportunity to present the paper “Valuing pine forests through ecosystem services: a myth or reality?”, by Susana Brígido, General Director of 2BForest. Participation in this seminar reinforces 2BForest's commitment to bringing to public debate, together with the scientific and technical community, the instruments that can help the Portuguese forest and, in particular, the pine forest, to become more resilient and more valued.
