2BForest is co-coordinator of this innovative project that seeks to create an improvement and efficiency in forest management in Portugal through the production and provision of high-quality geospatial data.
With a focus on sustainability and efficiency, the project contributes to the continuous improvement of geospatial information, essential for those working in forest management, as well as for the owners of these areas. 2BForest plays a key role in the creation of these technological solutions.
Customized products for Forest Certification Groups:
As part of this project, 2BForest is developing customized solutions for forest certification groups.
A proximity technological service
One of the highlighted innovations is the creation of a mobile application (APP) that allows forest owners or technicians to access interactive maps and information about the legal constraints of their forest property directly on their cell phones.

Innovation with drones for surveying property boundaries
Surveying forest property boundaries can be challenging, especially in hard-to-reach areas. 2BForest is developing drone-based boundary survey software to improve the efficiency and safety of this process. Using drones significantly reduces the time required to delineate property boundaries and facilitates real-time georeferencing.

ForestSIM as a DGT pilot test platform
The DGT will develop a Territorial Information Portal (PoInT), which promises to revolutionize the provision of essential geospatial data for forest management. When integrated into end-user information systems, it could increase the efficiency of forest planning and its operability will be tested by 2BForest's ForestSIM platform.

– Internationalization: The ForestSIM platform will be adapted to different international markets, offering solutions for global forest management.
